chkconfig in SLES9 and SLES10
Basically the command 'chkconfig' use to updates and queries runlevel information for system services in Linux. The 'chkconfig' command provides a simple command-line tool for maintaining the /etc/rc[0-6].d directory hierarchy by relieving system administrators of the task of directly manipulating the numerous symbolic links in those directories.
I'm noticed a different between 'chkconfig' in SLES9 and SLES10. In short, SLES9 and SLES10 running on different version of RPM packages that show different result. Sorry, I'm not sure about the details.
For example:
In SLES 9
chkconfig –list |grep sysstat
sysstat 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:off 4:off 5:off 6:off
In SLES 10
chkconfig –list |grep sysstat
sysstat 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:off 4:off 5:off 6:off B:on
Do you see the different between this 2 example as show above?
SLES10 or aaa_base-10-12.26 use to have additional detail for BOOT=ON/OFF process that can either be found in /etc/init.d/boot.d folder.
So how to check in SLES9, type yast runlevel -> select expert mode and browse from there OR cd /etc/init.d/boot.d/ and search for Sxxsysstat

YaST Segmentation Fault
Have you seen this problem before?
This morning I found one of my SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586) server having a problem with YaST Segmentation Fault error message when I click on Install software but it's worked for other options in YaST. Weird?
The similar problem found in Google and help me solve the problem. Someone actually suggested reinstall all the YaST related RPM packages due to some file corruption suspected.

Why Not Use BCC in Email Chain?
Personally I have received a lot of emails from my family's, friends, and colleagues daily. I believed some of the emails are so called 'emails chain' or 'junk mail' which are forward form one person to another person such as a photos(Edison Chen(陈冠希), Bobo Chan(陈文媛), Gillian Chung(钟欣桐) and Cecilia Cheung(张柏芝) photos?), jokes, malling list and etc.
Look! This is one of the example mail that I received from my friend that keep forward. I just wonder why not forward using "BCC"?
According to Wikipedia – Blind carbon copy, abbreviated BCC, and sometimes referred to as Blind Courtesy Copy refers to the practice of sending a message to multiple recipients in such a way that what they receive does not contain the complete list of recipients.
It was also used, though rarely and with more difficulty in preparation, in typewritten correspondence by ensuring BCC and the names did not appear on the top copy (the original); the most discreet (though troublesome) method was to roll the copies through the typewriter again without the top copy, and type the BCC information onto the otherwise-completed copies. An alternate way is to switch the ribbon setting to strike the paper without raising the ribbon over the area being struck; this, however, leaves impressions in the surface of the paper. Read more
