Auto Gate Problem again!

My auto gate problem agains! I bought a swing type auto gate (OAE Auto-Gate System brand) in June 2006 about RM1400 and so far I have call them for services or help for more than 10 times.

I already changed my auto gate motherboard for additional charge RM300 due to lightning strike according to their engineer. (remember they never tell you motherboard without warranty if lightning strike during purchase, maybe this is my fault.) last month and today the problem came again!

So far, the problems are auto gate not working, auto gate opening & closing speed are too fast, auto gate battery not working, remote control not working and etc.

The services and the products are sucks! The engineer is rude, never came in time, delay the date without notice.

Please please remember regarding this company name Home Alarm & Automation Sdn. Bhd. – Co. No. 415175-T

No.17D, Jalan Perdana 10/12, Pusat Perdagangan, Kuala Lumpur
55300 Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia
* Tel: 03-9274 9811, 03-9274 8000
* H/P: 016-233 2232
* Fax: 03-9274 8100

How I get to know this ‘suck’ company? I got it from Media Focus brochure.

Hope no one kena cheat/tipu again~!

After reading about the frustration you have experienced, I would expect the irresponsible company to be HOME ALARM too. My bad experience is similar to your. Here it goes:
- end of 2004, changed the autogate swing arm type, even asked for a better quality and had paid higher price
- less than one month, the motherboard broke down and it happened during the 2005 CNY and nobody came to service even after the 10 days of the new year.
- finally they came and changed after some quarrellings with the staff. Was without the convenience of autogate for about a month.
- within that year of warranty, the system had broke down at least three times, each time, the mother board was changed.
- the last time of service, they even disconnect the wall control accidentally, and until today after many time calling, no body turned up to repair their blunder made. We paid for the price of their blunder by not having the convenience of opening the gate using the wall control.
- FYI, those workers are not engineers and they are just plain experienced work force.
- tonite, 20070308 the system broke again, after two years and I am looking for a reliable company to replace the system. Any recommendation?

Actually all the parts for the autogate system is fairly standard and the most common unit is made in Ipoh (OAE). It is a very affordable & reliable system and usually problems are due to poor installation.

example of the system:-
http://autogatemalaysia.blogspot.com/

You can easily buy all the components separately.e.g. remote control, motors, arms, motherboard, remote control receiver etc separately and very reasonable cost. e.g. the entire mother board should cost less than RM200 to replace.

The settings on the motherboard are very easy to set. all you need is a test pen to calibrate maximum open time, fast time, slow time etc.

How much would DC Moto GFM-905 cost?

Posted on July 27th, 2009

wt says:

DC Moto GFM-905 including installation would cost roughly RM1,900

If you’re interested in these Hybrid arm gate systems then you should also look at CASA ASIA 320 which works on a similar concept.

i remember that lastime i install was Rm1800.

Posted on July 28th, 2009

wt says:

Prices would vary depending on a number of other factors. e.g. readiness existing wiring, additional features (e.g. door open lighting, additonal solenoid locks, extra remotes etc).

Some Independent contractors that solely do installs can charge less but do not offer warranties, however they will service your gates for a nominal RM50 call out charge.

Jane says:

Do you know that we can’t easily duplicate extra remote controls for DC MOTO autogates? Have to go back to original vendor to get new remotes if they are faulty and it costs almost double the price of normal autogate remote control

Posted on December 4th, 2009

wt says:

That is true, the DC MOTO remote controls are more expensive to duplicate, however they use a rolling code system that is not easily hacked by screening devices use robbers waiting outside your house and copying your remote control code when you use you remote control.

As an alternative, you overide you DCMOTO control with a regular remote control system, you do not have to go to DCMOTO to get replacements.

poti says:

You guys must be an auto gate supplier, and the cost you quoate is still expensive. The real price for a mother board is only rm80. DC moto cost only Rm 85 for a brand new and a recond one i can get for Rm20 only and that one can lat up to 2 years if we change the magnetic carbonstone that cost ony rm2. Just clean and service the dc motor.

weitatt says:

OAE is a fairly common a reliable system. however it’s important ot select a good installer that will do the job properly and provide you good support. e.g. Stay away from Vigitronx/Top-Ten Alarm as they are too short handed to provide timely support when necessary. The system at my condo from this installer has broken down numerous times and some times it has taken weeks to rectify the problem.

Anyone who need to purchase automatic gate system plese dont go to Dynamic Andric. Why I chosse to purshase from him because of the attractive price…but at the end no service and dont even answere my phone call. I feel cheated and now I understand dont get cheated by seeing the price go the more efficient, reliable, friendly company. I strongly recommanded JACKPRO Arm Gate System.

so far dynamic drive andric autogate service is good & liable, responding within 24 hours, can try this guy 012 511 9300

Posted on August 15th, 2010

wt says:

From what I have observed. Dynamic Drive is a company with less that 2 years of history in with Autogate Systems (compared other Malaysian hallmarks such as Magnet, Westmark or OEA with over 10+ years in the industry). Further more the systems offered are either basic arm gate systems or OEM systems from other major local manufacturers (e.g. DCMOTO)

My autogate motor is GFM-905 SSc. Can you please tell why one side of the gate is open & close half way. Also how long is the motor warranty they assured. Looking forward to hear from you thanks.

Posted on September 23rd, 2011

wt says:

Opening and closing halfway is just a setup problem, your installer should be able to re-adjust the calibration on the gate very quickly.

The motor warranty depends on your installer. most provide 1 or 2 years. Some do 3 years with a slight premium on the overall cost.
