Android Development Training Program for Beginner is a 3-day hands-on guide to designing and building mobile applications using Google’s Android open-source platform. The course explains what Android is, the Android SDK, all essential features, as well as the advanced capabilities and APIs, such as background services and notifications.

This complete hands-on workshop encourages participants to learn by building a real-life working application, which can serve as a basis for their future Android projects. By the end of the course, each participant will have a complete functional Android application incorporating most of the key features of the platform.

Training Program Details:

Date: 13^th December 2011 (Tuesday) – 15^th December 2011 (Thursday)

Time: 9am – 5pm

Venue: Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Nilai

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Build their Android applications.
Understand how Android applications work, their life cycle, manifest, Intents, and using external resources.
Design and develop useful Android applications with compelling user interfaces by using, extending, and creating their own layouts and “Views” and using “Menus”.
Take advantage of Android’s APIs for data storage, retrieval, user preferences, files, databases, and content providers.
Utilize the power of background services and notifications.
Use Android’s communication APIs for internet resources (HTTP).
Learn how to use common Web APIs from popular services like Twitter, Flickr, bit.ly, etc.

A video show as below has surfaced, hinting at what all the Galaxy Tab 2 (rumored) would come with 3D display. Cool!

The device is expected to come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and we guess Samsung will later on upgrade it to the Honeycomb OS. The 3D display will be coming in after the upgrade to Honeycomb, probably.
Other features in the tablet which will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chip, will include Gorilla Glass display, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, 3-megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p video recording and 64GB of internal memory. The screen real estate will be noteworthy with a 7-inch user interface, which will boast of 2048 x 1200 Super AMOLED Plus properties. The connectivity aspect will be taken care of by 3G, USB port Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. The device will hide under the hood a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM, Accelerometer and will also come with a compass and barometer.

Google and Motorola unveiled a tablet computer at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference that runs on Google’s Android 3.0 operating system, aka “Honeycomb.”

Equipped with a 3D Nvidia processor, the tablet/mapping combo generated three-dimensional images with a slide of the finger across a screen punctuated by suggestive shadows.

And again this is just a prototype of Google tablet ‘iPad’.
