Today, GPS is well known technology used by Malaysian here. Most of the latest mobile phone already have GPS build in or you may refer to http://www.malsingmaps.com. If anyone of your friend ask for any map direction, you can just easily send him a latitude or longitude instead of teach him turn left or turn right. Just click on GO with GPS software such as Garmin, you should be able to reach the destination. (no Holland please).

I would like to introduce http://www.mygeoposition.com/ today.

MyGeoPosition is an application that was created because Google Maps themselves do not have accurate geocoding for street numbers which are in the countryside. According to its programmer, he found this aspect infuriating whenever he had to design maps and geotags for customers, so he set down to work and came up with this application.

MyGeoPosition.com offers:

Geocoding of worldwide addresses

Finetuning of the position using a drap & drop marker

Geoposition as float or in degrees

Setting an inaccuracy (~1m, ~10m, ~100m, …) for data protection reasons

Automated creation of geo-metatags for websites and weblogs

Automated creation of geotags for websites, weblogs and images

Automated creation of kml files (Google Earth)

iGoogle gadget for quick geocoding from your personal landing page

Slim design, quick loading process

Enter a geocoded website url and its location will be displayed on the map

Its most notable features include fine tuning of positions by means of a drag & drop marker and the automated creation of both geo metatags and geotags for websites and weblogs alike, as well as a iGoogle gadget for fast geo coding from your personal landing page. Moreover, data protection is taken care of by setting up accuracy parameters. So far, this free service is offered both in English, German, Bulgarian and Netherlands.

If let said you’re looking for direction to Kuala Lumpur, enter the word “Kuala Lumpur” and click calculate geodata, the system will show you Latitude: 3.150210 (3° 9′ 0.76” N), Longitude: 101.707703 (101° 42′ 27.73” O) and maps within a short period of time. Pretty Easy. Enter in your mobile phone, and GPS should bring you there.

Tips: you can try enter your home address and you should get the geo/map details.

I just came across about how to increase Google Adsense Earning by using AdsBlackList and Adsense Competitive Ad Filter. In fact this may not 100% work for you but it’s worked for me. Why not give it a try? Let’s Make Money Online together.

What is AdsBlackList?
AdsBlackList is a unique project designed to enable you to dramatically reduce the amount of MFA (made for ads) and LCPC (low cost per click) sites which appear through the use of PPC systems such as Google Adsense™, Yahoo Publisher Network™ and Chitika eMiniMalls™.

What is Google Adsense Competitive Ad Filter?
The Competitive Ad Filter enables you to block specific ads, such as competitors’ ads, from appearing on your pages. Entering a more general URL will block a wider range of ads; entering a more specific URL will block a smaller range of ads.

So how? First, register wth AdsBlackList(There are 3 types of account. A basic account is completely free of charge (see faq for details).
Type ‘google‘ on http://www.google.com, look at the result and it is not based on alphabets.

Follow by what? Of course $ but Google have no clue and no suggestion for me.

Again, I will focus on ‘money’. Look, Google focus on saving which show on no.2. In fact, we know economy is bad now.

What else?

Yeah! Must be Mr. US president - Barack Obama.

Sorry Google - Yahoo deal is OFF.

Google and Microsoft merge? No ways!

Google Internet? I think Google Suggest make a big mistake here. Why Internet Explorer?

Google also support Malaysiakini and MalaysiaToday. Now you know Malaysian goes to which web site on internet.

What next?

No doubt Google support own product blogspot.

Open Source? Yes it’s my favorite.

No surprice about SuSE Linux

Thanks God. Vista, you’re sucked.

I through Apple iPhone will be on top.

Yes. Nintendo Wii, DS, DS Lite.

1. Exabytes, you’re FIRE! Your web hosting services and support are very very lousy. I have move over to BlueHost.com, I won’t ’so called’ abuse your CPU resources anymore and you’re losing at least one customer and many other hosting package soon.

2. I bought a brand new Linksys Wireless G ADSL 2+ modem.

3. Terminated my Hong Leong Bank credit card. Why? I have told them I can’t afford to keep so many credit card and I have choosed HLB credit card. A small request - change malling address have to go HLB branch and no free for life scheme. Too bad.

Samba is an Open Source/Free Software suite that has, since 1992, provided file and print services to all manner of SMB/CIFS clients, including the numerous versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Samba is freely available under the GNU General Public License.

Samba comes with different types of permissions for share and for some reason you may require creating new files and directory with full right permission 777.

The example show as below will guide you how to configure Samba share drive with 777 full right permission for any new files or folders created in /data/shared(example)?

[SHARED]
comment = SHARED data
path = /data/shared
valid users = user1, user2, planetmy
writeable = yes
create mask = 0777
force create mode = 0777
directory mask = 777
max connections = 10
veto files = .??*/.ssh/.profile/.mailrc

In this case, the most important Samba setting are:

create mask = when a new file created, the necessary UNIX mode permissions are created and the default create mask = 0744

force create mode = specifies a set of UNIX mode bit permissions that will always be set on a file created by Samba.

directory mask = when a new directory created, the necessary UNIX mode permissions are created and the default create mask = 0755

Additional setting:

valid users = a list of users that should be allowed to login to this service.

max connections = number of simultaneous connections to a service to be limited

veto files = a list of files and directories that are neither visible nor accessible

writeable = this parameter is a synonym for writeable

Enjoy 777 permission for any new file or directory create in /data/shared folder!

My friend was try to setup Linux SSH public key authentication without password and he’s keep getting password prompt. I will not going to go through how to setup SSH public key authentication here and I just would like to share few troubleshoot tips in order to fix the similar problem here:

1. Checking /var/log/messages file
Basically SSH hints are written to “/var/log/messages” file, you should be able to see any error messages here. For an example “Authentication refused: bad ownership or
modes for directory /root cannot set to 775“. Perhaps you’re require to change /root folder permission to make it work (may apply to other /home folder as well).
Type #chmod 755 /root or #chmod 700 /root can solve authentication problem.

2. Permissions
Please make sure you have correct file and folder permission as suggested below.

.ssh folder permission 700 (rwx——)
authorized_keys 600 (rw——-)
id_rsa 600 (rw——-)
id_rsa.pub 600 (rw——-)
id_dsa 600 (rw——-)
id_dsa.pub 600 (rw——-)

Good luck

I was try one of the microblogging software with my friend for the past few days and we are noticed one of the features that automatically send notices to Twitter stored a plain text password in MySQL database. That’s mean if you’re using the similar web services, your Twitter password is actually disclose.

Remember if you’re using Meebo, Facebook, Friendster, Myspace or any other community site that require enter your email address and password, I think your password is
disclose. Said for an example Meebo, you can have single account register on Meebo that keep multiple IM account. I’m sure you already save your password in the database(no matter plain text or not, your password is disclosed). If you enter Gmail, Yahoo or MSN email address and password in Facebook looking for your friends in the contact list who use the same services, I think your password is disclose too. Perhap they claimed they won’t keep your password.

How about those ‘policy’ that protected privacy? What are they try to do with your email data. Sorry I don’t know.

So? I would advice anyone please do not store any important data on your email. Please do change your password frequently if possible. Email is NOT secure. Web is NOT secure? Good luck!
