How To Find VMware Workstation Serial Number In Windows

The following tips will guide you "How to find VMware Workstation serial number in Windows". 
 
As usual,  I think I can see the VMware Workstation serial number under HELP -> About VMware Workstation. This is wrong! The Workstation serial number can be found in the Windows registry.
  • Click the Windows Start button and select the Run command.
  • Enter regedit to open the Windows registry editor.
  • Find the Workstation serial number in My Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > VMware, Inc. > VMware Workstation.

 

 

 
Noted: This is apply to VMware Workstation 5.0.x – 6.0.x.

    Hey all, VmWare is a commercial entity. They do research and develop products and it cost them money to do so.

    Why is it that many low lifers want to get free keys and pirated serial numbers instead of doing the right thing and buying the product!?!

    Stop being so miserable and buy your own license!!!

    It is not free!!!!

    I have downloaded the latest version of Workstation and it keeps asking for $189 to get a serial number for the 30-day evaluation.

    If you really want a key, use a keygen at your own risk (they often come with plague…).

    If you don’t need snapshots, VMPlayer is free. You may, from time to time, make a copy of your VM’s directory, so you can revert to a known valid state of your VM (can be a cron task or a scheduled, depending on how lame you are)

    If you DO need snapshots, latest Workstation 8 is $199. Share your serial numbers with everyone, post them on any board for lamers feeling more intelligent than you and asking (not so politely) for them… C’mon!

    And there is the Creme de la Creme, the ESXi5… You can get a FREE version (but still have to get a FREE license for it) that will install on a bare system and be accessed through the (local) network. In my opinion, that’s the best thing to get for home use, coz u get all the power of VMWare without the cost.

    Now, keep on showing yourself as a dumbass, keep on asking licenses for something you can get legally…
