Maxis Broadband
Updated 05 March 2008: This article posted 2 years back and we have more than 400 comments posted.
Most of the people are complain about TMNET Streamyx broadband this and that. However I would like to complain about Maxis broadband today. One of my customer in PJ Selangor area always have internet connection (for the last 2 days) problems during heavy lightning strike.
I have call up Maxis help desk support but they said no problem on their site. Hmmm…. So I was thinking how to prove to them and thanks god I can recall a Linux command “mtr”.
MTR is a network diagnostic tool which is combines the functionality of the traceroute and ping programs in a single network diagnostic tool. As “mtr” starts, it investigates the network connection between the host mtr runs on and HOSTNAME by sending packets with purposely low TTLs. It continues to send packets with low TTL, noting the response time of the intervening routers.
This allows mtr to print the response percentage and response times of the internet route to HOSTNAME. A sudden increase in packet loss or response time is often an indication of a bad (or simply overloaded) link. For an example: mtr mail.yahoo.com Please look at “Loss%” area, and you should see which IP Address or host name have most loss percentage. Save as a screen shot and email to them. Hope this can help you trouble shot your broadband!

April 14th, 2007 at 4:52 pm
KETIDAKPUASAN HATI SAYA,MENGAPA PIHAK TUAN MEMGENAKAN CHARGE SEBANYAK RM 139.32????

heyy..what about celcom?do they have broadband as well??
August 19th, 2007 at 5:30 pm
i’m using digi gprs/edge unlimited. recently i heard a promotion by celcom 3G unlimited data plan RM68 per month. which is better digi edge or celcom 3G? Digi is very smooth to me while surfing except its lack of edge in my area, while celcom (they said) in my area got edge.
August 26th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
Celcom’s broadband is indeed fast, 3.6Mbps is possible. BUT, do bear in mind that when you pay RM120 a month for fast broadband, whereby you can only surf the net and not access P2P services, i do not see the investment justified.
Just my 2 cents…
September 4th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
[...] And Maxis, why they don’t just lower their 3G montly unlimited service? RM120 is still expensive. I’m sure if Maxis can lower it down to RM68, everybody will subscribe to it. Some even says Maxis Broadband sucks with a lot of complaints! [...]

hi digi supporter

Maxis Broadband is really good NOW!! I was one of the unfortunate ones in the early mths of launch. However, I decided to give them a 2nd chance during the recent PC Fair Aug. I got to admit it was a whole world of difference from start till now.
First I paid RM100 for activation and got the modem on the spot and the line was activated the same day! I’ve since been browsing at speed more than 1.0Mbps on my DU Meter very frequently. Plus I heard they expanded their network to about 700plus stations on HSDPA within a year. Recently at their center in KLCC, I was shown their new mobile broadband modem. It was small, sleek and sexy. Plus it was really cheap but only available sometime next week..:(
Personally, kudos to Maxis for turning around so fast

Just started using maxis wired broadband day before yesterday. The line wasn’t set up properly but now it is.
Before setting up the line was EXTRA EXTRA SLOW, WORST THAN STREAMYX but stable. Been experiencing unstable connection from streamyx for 2 months+.
Now that the line is set up, it loads faster than previously but pictures take very very very long to load…have to use download manager(flashget) to download pictures….from http://www.deviantart.com
But, web browsing definitely better than streamyx. The same can’t be said about uploading/downloading though. 3 pcs here and me and my sis use P2P.(i limit my torrent dls to aboout 5-10, don’t know about my sis.. she use torrent and emule)
Earlier today, I had to upload a file to a friend since 5pm today trying to upload a 2.74mb .rar file and I tried using yahoo to send… cannot, geocities..cannot, uploaded.to…cannot…. wait wait wait then i use megaupload…
At 8:30pm+ finally the file was uploaded. You say geng or not??
00:56:02 to upload 2.74mb at transfer rate 0.64kB/s
My dad says we’re under wired…but…
we’re only covered for wireless not wired.
http://www.speedtest.net also say the ping ms 999 upload 8kbs download 7kbps at 4:26AM Evening around 6-8pm ping ms 999 upload forgot download 2kbps…

Saya pengguna maxis wireless broadband 384kbps.Memang saya rasa tertipu dgn maxis kerana kelajuan yg sangat lembab iaitu kurang 100kbps. download sekitar 3 ke 10 kbps. Kadang 2 lebih slow dari dial-up. Saya pernah buat aduan, tapi keljuannya sama.Sesiapa yg nak melanggan maxis, saya nasihatkan lebihbaik ambik streamx.Saya pengguna dari Kinrara.
October 4th, 2007 at 6:59 pm
i’m using maxis broadband 384kbps for 2 months now, and it’s really-really sucks…very slow…i tested it with speedtest.net, download speed only 197kbps, upload 33kbps…download 5mb file take more than 15 min…average speed 3kbps..really suck
October 5th, 2007 at 12:07 am
Maxis broadband really bad, low speed with high price, i just subscribe for 640kbps rm78 but i only get the speed 100++kbps or even lower. I am wondering is maxis dial up or broadband. I am regret with registering maxis, unstable bandwidth. I still have to use this maxis for 18 months, i am going to get crazy with the speed.
October 5th, 2007 at 12:27 am
Giving up of Streamyx. Terminate fix line & streamyx as well. I’ve been using maxis 3g unlimited with my SE K600 handphone for over 6 months…. No problem at all… speedtest.net result over 120~200+kpbs… very stable & less down time…. now consider upgrade to 3.6mpbs package….

October 8th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
My area dont have phone line.. new develop residential area somewhere at sg buloh..
No choice can’t get fixed line so try subscribe maxis broadband RM68 on yesterday. Activation fee RM100 and on spot can use.
First day very suck.. always disconnected and timeout.. Even can’t open speedtest or any internet connection speed test site.
Fortunately tonight is much better than yesterday. Can try speedtest, d/l 56kbps u/l 47kbps for kl server.. and use http://bandwidthmeter.maxis.com.my/checkSpeed.asp I got d/l around 30-40 kbps and u/l around 20-30kbps.
I think its ok ler for me.. just to access internet at home.. Not sure why today is better.. lets see 1-2 days more before end of cooling period to finalized my decision whether to keep or not..
To d/l or upload I’ll use T1 connection at office hehe..

To Telecommunications Minister
Feedback on Malaysia broadband standard sent in October 2007.
Internet services provided by Telekom Malaysia has been down for the past week or so, different time in different area.
There are few problems I could see Malaysians are facing in relation to internet access. It is my honour if I could get your attention sharing the plights we are facing.
When expectations failed, customers should be given choices to uptake other services felt suitable, unfortunately we are to do so in current Malaysia situation.
Many customers signed up for attractive Streamyx plans offered by Telekom Malaysia which tied them up for the next 12 months, 24 months or so. While both sides have their commitment to honour the contract until its expiry, the plans were taken up in view of excellent services assured.
Multiple downtimes every year is not an expectation we can be contented with.
This is as if one purchases a two-year voucher for a restaurant food. But if they start serving rot food, do we have to consume it for the rest of the year?
With Malaysia’s aim to be an IT hub, it is wise to compare us with international
standard of countries, where the Information Services are well ahead of others. Take OECD countries for example:
1) Their termination rates are low and even able to terminate current contracts with low penalty.
Malaysia: We are fully tied to the long-term contracts with no option to terminate even with reasonable penalty.
2) It encourages competition by forcing Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) to lower prices and improve services.
(LLU :- will we split Telekom into three separate operating companies, including wholesaling the internet infrastructure to its competitors?)
Malaysia: It is obvious Telekom’s been given the advantage ahead of others, has in a monopolistic position and its arm’s owned the back bone of Malaysia’s broadband access infrastructure. Oher providers can only operate in certain area and region.
3) Most OECD have continuous improvement of services throughout year on year basis. Many OECD countries are offering broadband bandwidth of over 30 Mbps.
Malaysia: The top two most popular broadband plans - 0.5Mbps and 1Mbps bandwidth have been in operation for more than more than 7 years?
(Even Thailand and Singapore way surpassed Malaysia at least 10Mbps for years).
Malaysia has only started planning to build infrastructure capable of up to 100Mbps.
With it, why is Malaysia able to commit it will support 10% of its capability?
4) Most OECD countries aiming for above 90% household broadband uptake by lowering prices and building infrastructure for rural areas
Malaysia : In our mission to be an IT hub, why did Telecommunication Minister allow lowering the target from 75% to 50%, just to have a sense of accomplishment?
Are we allowing ourselves to widen the gap with countries that are on IT forefronts? Should we instead increase investment and cover other areas, especially rural areas. When will we be able to cater high speed internet ALL Malaysians?

I’m a TIME broadband user and I must say I’m quite satisfied with it. Good latency and stability, it never goes down for more than a few minutes.
The only issue is it is quite costly and its limited bandwidth, RM98 monthly for just 384kbps. But judging from the quality of the connection and the reputed customer service, I’m glad to be paying that amount.

i jz subscribe maxis bb rm68(384kbps) for 1 week only…for first 2 days i feeling i change from streamyx to maxis bb is worth…bcoz when i dl p2p even can reach 150kbps fast than streamyx rm77(1mbps) package..after 2days i feel i m regret..bcoz even want sign in msn also cant…n then when i want surf to hotmail.com o msn.com also cant too..what a crap….
so the nxt day i try calling to 1800-82-2000 their customer service but hardly to talk as the phone line seem to have a “construction background sound” and i try to use diff phone to call them but still they make it availabe.WTF…

I Was using maxis wireless broadband recently but i have to cancel the service since the connection is noT STABLE!!! i experience connection lost every seconds which will be frust if ur downloading. i tried celcom sim card but i cant used it with my maxis modem since it was contract. i was penalty 4 stopping their service and now subscribing celcom d68. the connection was excellent rm68 which is 384kbps package but i manage 2 get 1mbps. the rm120 package is 3.6MBPS!! i did purchase the modem seperately at blue cube maluri.
October 17th, 2007 at 10:15 am
I’ve test the speed connection, it was different when test on (http://bandwidthmeter.maxis.com.my/checkspeed.asp) with (http://www.speedtest.net/). I’m subscribe RM 99 package, and the connection very bad. They told me, i can use p2p, downloading or whatever heavy because I’m choosing the good package, but after i tried it at home, it really ’sux’. I still have 18 month contract with them, and what i think is, Maxis is ‘LIE with full LIAR’. They gave hope to people and same time they kill you from behind. Which part I’m located, nearly KL. In Cheras.

Update for my post (No. 28).After nearly a month since signing up for maxis 3.6mbps.
Two weeks ago complained to maxis about the line getting way worst than that. Average download speed for files/pictures during day 2kb/ps. Web browsing ok la.
P2P day time tak leh pakai at all. At night, P2P can work but about 10+ kbps only.
So far I find morning 6-7AM best speed for web browsing, P2P cannot connect. 2-5am quite good, P2P ok also. Day time sometimes have to refresh page or reboot modem.
Technician came a few days ago. Say line no problem. Subang Jaya line here 200 kbps considered good already. Some places get half or worst. My dad asked why can’t get 3.6mbps, the technician laughed and said no way can get that kind of speed.
Anyone know how to port forward with maxis? I can’t access router configuration page. Used to be 192.168.1.1(aztech router/streamyx connection page) now it’s 192.168.0.1(maxis ZTE page).

Sorry to say Alez & Haizul,
The most suitable broadband to use these days are not available in Malaysia.
Most countries - OECD, even Thailand and Singapore, Hong Kong are using above 10mbps, some even have been using 30mbps for few years
Malaysia most popular plans are 0.5 & 1 mbps. Long way to catch up.
To have broadband reaching every home in Malaysia with updated technology
Malaysia need to spend 53 Billion.
But it’s announced & said… “it appears the Malaysian government has opted for the less costly option”
Maksud, nak jimat and abaikan rakyat lah!
Banyak rumah tak dapat high-speed internet (broadband) tu.
To other countries, that’s underinvested lah!
Some more, invest in technology capable of 100mbps but targeting to have 10mbps?
Isn’t that like, we’re buying a racing car but hope it can go as fast as 10km/hour? hahaha
WHAT A SHAME?!!
Bacalah sendiri…

It’s actually kinda surprising how the definition of high speed internet access has changed drastically over the years. Because 5 years ago, when I was at my brother’s place in Singapore,a 512kbps broadband line loads a flash website in only a matter of seconds. 5 years later, Maxis’s 3.2 Mbps High Speed Internet Access takes 10 secs to load Google. I must have missed out on the referendum to change the definition of high speed from actual broadband to slightly better than dial-up.
It’s disheartening, really, when people boast that their product can reach UP TO 3.6 Mbps for RM98 and 512kbps for RM78 and the reality really leaves much to be desired. For 98 bucks, I really have a peak speed of around 500kbps or less. When asked, the sale people expressed surprise because “people usually get around 300 kbps in this area”. I don’t remember hearing that when they promote their product. (I wonder how much speed can the RM78 package go. Perhaps as fast as dial-up, hopefully). The speed they say is fastest in the lower floors of my condo (I stay in the 1st floor) and generally everyone is VERY satisfied with their service (No complains so far, the lady chants). The highest speed their customer ever got in Klang Valley, according to them, is 2.6Mbps. Which brings me back to the question - why did they promote and claimed that the line can reach 3.6 Mbps when no one gets that?
But then again,300 kbps is really within “up to 3.6 Mbps”, the sales person says. And so is zero. So I think I should just live with getting 0 kbps because it’s still “up to 3.6 Mbps”. Having said that, I would also hope that all Maxis staff and executives enjoy equal consumer privileges as those they’ve dished out at us. Living up to their own standards is the word I’m looking for. I can really imagine them being fully satisfied when any of the below incidences occur to them:
On a slimming product,
Maxis: Hey, your Auta-Liar Slimming Cream promised to help me lose UP TO 10kgs, I’ve lost 10 grammes. Wow! your product works! Thanks so much!
On a Car,
Maxis: Wow Protodua Penipu claims to reach UP TO 300kmh and I could reach 60 kmh. That’s great!
On a health insurance policy,
Maxis: This Max Is Cacat Plan is really great. They promised to compensate UP TO RM100,000 for a disability. I’ve lost a hand and a leg and they gave me RM100. Perfect!
If I’m not mistaken, Maxis is a multinational company that is the forerunner of the Malaysian economy. What a great way to represent the transparency and honesty of Malaysian commerce. I’m sure Ananda Krishnan will be more than happy to earn his money the right way rather than cheating his fellow countrymen. Maybe he can start by actually reforming the whole Maxis Narrowband technical department (e.g sacking people) and also dissolving the B.E.E.B.U (Bluff Everyone Else But Us) division.
P/s: I’ve tried applying for Maxis in March this year and they lost my form. TWICE. And they promised to call back and never did. TWENTY TIMES. But after I heard that they’ve relaunched their service I thought I’d give them a try. Big mistake.

October 30th, 2007 at 12:14 am
For Info 2 u all :
1. CELCOM WIRELESS BROADBAND
Saya yakin ramai yg dah tengok iklan CELCOM USB MODEM
- RM68 monthly
- CELCOM- TIDAK termasuk USB Modem. Modem kena beli sendiri, harga USB
Modem HUAWEI tu dlm RM990-RM1100 per unit.
- CELCOM - RM68 sebulan utk akses unlimited, 384k speed shj. utk peak
speed up to 3.6 Mbps, RM128 monthly x masuk MODEM.
October 30th, 2007 at 7:30 am
garmaxisbroadband!!
kau pakai pakej mano..brp spec komputer kau..mgkn tak speed dia bergantung kpd sistem kita..
October 31st, 2007 at 12:31 am
For Info I’m using Starter Package 384 Kbps n Power Package up to 3.6 Mbps. So far speed yang digambarkan taklah seperti yang dicetak pada sekadar 200Kbps up to 400Kbps (Starter) n (Power) 200 hingga paling tinggi I cuba 1.8Mbps.
klu highway tak penuh lah. Malam orangramai kat rumah a bit slow lah…..Spec computer biasa aje Acer Laptop Intel Pentium M (1GB) tapi kalau model baru Celeron or Core 2 Duo lebih baik n PC i’m using AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1.15Ghz, 512MB..if ur area EDGE so slow maaa..
before sign up better check ur coverage frenz….
Di kampung I Beranang ada 3G coverage…pelik gak
November 1st, 2007 at 7:24 pm
hi all… which network mode good? (maxis broadband) HSDPA,3G or UMTS which one can get high speed?
November 2nd, 2007 at 6:37 am
If ur area HSDPA (speedtest up to 1.8M) is much faster compare to 3G but mostly HSDPA cover in big town such KL, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya etc..but remember if the traffic are full u still get the slow speed…others provider also the same…other countries are more faster than Malaysia…we’re too slow..
November 3rd, 2007 at 6:56 pm
aku pakai celcom broadband guna nokia 6288 sbagai modem.line no problem 460kbps.aku duk area cheras tp kalau aku balik kg pun kt alor gajah melaka dpt acces yg same 460.8 kbps.buat masa ni xde ape2 masalah lah.aku guna celcom bb rm50 jer sbln sb ayah aku staff tmnet so ada klebihan lah skit rm50 jer.
November 4th, 2007 at 3:25 am
maxis is great…
On my 3230 phone can get SPAM MMS but cannot send MMS.
Changed from hotlink to subsidiary postpaid line and say will compensate my credit but still charge me monthly bill(I had rm50+- credit). Should be 5 months free…
Internet line also surfing is ok but downloading SUCKS. 3am morning sure cut line.
What is HSPDA, EDGE and UMTS? I get all three where I am(Subang). I get EDGE(mostly) or UMTS when line “kena potong”. =.=
Speedtest up to 1.8mbps? NO WAY ler. Latency seems to be always 999ms(tried 3 times during morning, afternoon and evening - speedtest.net).
November 4th, 2007 at 2:24 pm
pe lak pakej giga broadband ni.. tak penah dengar pun.. ad sesape yg expert tolong explain ckit.. dengar cam best je..
November 4th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
Speedtest.net testing its all depends on area, signal, traffics, your computer speed. No one can get exact and stable speed…maa
November 4th, 2007 at 5:21 pm
One problem with ur ZTEMF600 if showing EDGE all the times better send back to Maxis Centre coz its something wrong somewhere…you supposed to get HSPDA OR 3G IF surf in HSPDA area unless ur area below 3G signal…better check ur coverage…

November 4th, 2007 at 10:20 pm
Hi Shanie,
sedeh dgr citer ko tuh, aku pun regist kat alpha angle gak, hari ahad laa tapi minggu lepas, tapi balik malam tuh ok laa dapat pakai, macam kes aku pun sama jugak dia takbleh nak activate time tuh sebab laptop dia cam problem tak bleh access site untuk register tuh, mungkin ada problem masa activate account ko, dia punya kedai actually dekat sebelah jpj wangsa maju tuh, ada shop lot , ko cari laa authorised maxis nye center, aku lupa nama kedai dia, cuba laa pergi follow up, aku tgh kat office ni, nanti aku balik rumah aku check kat copy form tuh rasa aku ada number phone , nanti aku post kat sini OK, jangan risau mungkin diaorang pun tak sedar benda ni, follow up je kay, selamat ber broadband dengan maxis hehe
November 5th, 2007 at 5:20 am
Hi…Shanie
Just be cool maybe the promoter is still not submit 2 Maxis Centre yet sometimes their online systems is also down due 2 many applications…hope the broadband is not jamming and Maxis should enhanced the systems to satisfied user not just sucking customer’s money n so poor service.

Maybe i’m so lucky they put “the kuali” on the top of my house….hehehehehehehe
November 5th, 2007 at 11:20 pm
Being using maxis starter plan for 7 months:
1. I regret big time.
2. Was cheated on the 18 months bond.
3. P2P will not work, or only few hours early morning. Even google talk or msn is difficult to work correctly. Simply, the network quality is too bad even it is 3G covered. My area is Puchong, except bdr puteri, u can forget about the rest.
Conclusion, DON’T SUBSCRIBE, this is a typical buatan malaysia - talk big no quality and full of lies - tipu tipu tipu…

Hi,
i dulu celcom supporter, tapi 7 tahun yg lalu tukar ke maxis sebab gaya marketing celcom yg suka pusing pusing. Contoh celcom kasi promotion dari RM70 down ke RM50 access fee per month, tapi subcribe then bayar juga RM70/month for basic fee kerana additional hidden charges RM20 for other services tapi tak boleh cancel -> overall celcom masih tiada kasi promotion, ia only pindah charge itu ke lain charges.
So, lepas 7 tahun skrg, celcom masih pakai marketing yg sama. I dah tanya beberapa kali ke celcom branch pasal RM68 unlimited usage broadband. Juga kamu fikir apa maksud “unlimited usage”. utk kebanyakaan user tentu mereka fikir unlimited download upload lah. Betul tak?
Tapi sebenarnya tidak…
apa celcom maksudkan ialah unlimitedusage=unlimtedconnect but if download kena charge $/byte.
Kalau nak lebih jelas, boleh lah pergi tanya celcom branch, i pun harap anggapan i salah sebab i pun nak 3G service.

Perkembangan teknologi broadband diMalaysia sangat teruk. Kata belanja berjuta2 ringgit membangunkan infrastruktur broadband tapi sangat mengecewakan kalau nak dibandingkan negara lain kita jauh ketinggalan..apa yang saya nampak mereka hanya nak “mencuri duit pengguna dengan perkhidmatan yang lambat dan lembab” teknologi tidak salah tapi cara orang yang mengekploitasi teknologi perlu dipertikaikan..macamana nak maju kalau provider lebih pentingkan diri daripada keutamaan terhadap pelanggan…tiada langsung win-win situation..Yang ada “we are making more profit and you’re moving in slow motion in broadband forever……
November 8th, 2007 at 11:38 am
I signed up to maxis broadband about a month ago, i really decided to get it cause the streamyx was totally unstable and i figured i with a 3.8m line would be handy, plus the sales person said you could use it anywhere you can get maxis coverage. i was impressed cause the thought of checking my mails and surfing wherever i maybe was a great idea. so i signed up, and honestly for the first few days i was in KL i was impressed, the speeds weren’t great but its was bearable. then i had an exhibition in Port dickson, decided to try us it there.. To be honest. IT was unusable..virtually 10 mins to load one page. it was that bad.. and totally unstable. even thought it said i had full bars of edge. overall i’d say the broadband is usable in KL, but don’t get your hopes up outside of it. if i could get a refund. i would.
November 8th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
aku pengguna celcom broadband unlimited.. rm68.
merujuk kpd: mariniaga Says: “apa celcom maksudkan ialah unlimitedusage=unlimtedconnect but if download kena charge $/byte.”
mana ada kena charge ar.. giler ker apa kena charge. aku pakai ok jer.. download ke upload ke, tak der kena charge pun. ko jgn ar tanya org celcom tu, dorang tu bukan tahu apa menda pun. dorang tau jual jer. apa pun, yg aku tahu, kalau kena charge tu, kalau download lagu dlm wap website yg charge. contoh, kalau nak download lagu dlm wap celcom. itu kena ar charge. tapi kalau korang surfing internet, pastu download lagu mp3 kat internet, mana ada kena charge. jgn ar download lagu kat laman WAP yg charge.
aku dah guna celcom broadband ni, dah lama dah. apa pun, aku puas hati ar. tapi 2 minggu sebelum ni, memang celcom broadband mcm hampeh. slow giler. lebih teruk dr diulup. tapi semlm, dah ok balik. pihak celcom ckp, selepas 11hb nov, dah tak der problem. mintak2 ar lepas ni, tak der masalah lagi.
apa yg bestnya celcom broadband ni, kawasan liputan mereka luas. aku dok mersing johor. tempat jin bertendang ni pun ada coverave 3g. apa yg best lagi, ada HSDPA, nama lain yg celcom guna 3gx. atau 3.5g. so far, aku amat berpuas hati dgn celcom.
aku pernah jugak test maxis broadband baru2 ni masa aku gie kl. aku test pun kat kawasan liputan maxis hsdpa. area mrr2. area sri gombak. dekat dgn giant. kira ok lah jugak speed maxis ni. sama mcm celcom broadband. tapi masalahnya, maxis ni, liputan tak meluas sgt. tu yg lemahnya. maxis ni, kedekut.. hanya bandar2 besar jer liputan ok (itu pun tak semua tempat) kalau tempat jin bertendang mcm mersing ni, entah tahun bila lah ada maxis 3G.
aku surfing celcom broadband guna pc dan laptop. connect guna cable dan bluetooth. so far, so good.. apa pun, aku prefer lagi celcom broadband daripada maxis. sebab yg paling nyata adalah, liputan celcom broadband ada kat tempat jin bertendang mcm mersing. huhuhuhu.. tapi kalau aku dok kat Kolumpo, mesti lagi byk kemudahan. sebab byk company2 broadband yg lain. dengar citer ada 4g pun ada.
November 9th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
Hi…Kelvin
You should screw up the Maxis coz not giving u the real speed. I did that before now my speed even more better especially in HSPDA or 3G area. One things for sure if ur surfing inside the house normally the signal is unstable so put ur ZTE moderm near the window or outside much better….
November 10th, 2007 at 1:17 am
hey, everyone here! how r u there? dun so angry! actually i’m a technical support executive. i found out tat during this day in malaysia all the broadband service provided is suck as u all know… I STRONGLY recommand THEM NOT TO use the funding for PROMOTION N EDVERTISE but funding for thier ACTUAL SERVICE!!!! dun just everytime we call up n wait for the stupid operator answer our call n give FAKE PROMISE…AGREE???
November 10th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Hi, I’m using SE K600i.I’ve subscribed to maxis GPRS. I’m able to surf the internet but not able to stream any internet radio. I get this message ‘Error.Cannot connect’. Can anyone help?
November 12th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
Honestly,I really feel despair to maxis broadband,
there is too many problems of the services, even can say terrible!!!
the speed is suck and terrible..wasting my time!!
I don’t knw why maxis will become like that, really dissapointed!
what up to 3.6Mbps,nonsense!
speed like shit..always break down!!
ai…it’s time to say GOOD BYE to MAxis!!
November 12th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Despair to Maxis Broadband…It’s time to say Good Bye!!!
November 13th, 2007 at 2:15 am
Hi…hate maxis
So sorry to hear that your maxisbroadband does not satisfied you in speed and lousy service. Normally the HSPDA and 3G(UMTS) cover in big city only. If your area EDGE or GPRS just forget about it coz the speed is terribly slow or not connected at all…anyway where is ur area?
November 14th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
Thanks for all kind of comments here.. be patient, this is Malaysia.
November 14th, 2007 at 9:42 pm
the maxis broadband agent told me tht my area is covered!
ya,it is covered,juz with a terrible services..
they said I might get a better line if take the RM98 package..so I beleive it..but now regret!
al my frens in different area oso said that maxis is cacat line…ya..that’s true..i need to reset my connection n modem many time juz can get a SLOW speed connection..fed up..
November 14th, 2007 at 9:49 pm
hehehe……
I nearly sign up for maxis, I know thier services is suck. But what choice do i have? Celcom. sorry to say. Their minutes plan really suck
But this evening I read some news, digi is goin to have 3g thru time dot com.
well… at the end of this month, i;m goin to sign up with digi
November 16th, 2007 at 12:56 am
If DIGI can provide better service n more faster surfing why not?..at least 1M n stable…dun mind 2 sign up……important speed not slow motion speed!
November 16th, 2007 at 1:56 pm
slow motion is better than putus putus motion……
After all, outside 3G coverage, maxis also will use edge/gprs
November 17th, 2007 at 11:28 am
DON’T subscribe, WORST than streamyx.
November 17th, 2007 at 5:35 pm
after reading all comment by maxis user from few blog site. thinking twice to apply it and the upload speed is worst, not even above 100kbps.
November 17th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
maxis connection is way diferent then celcom .. i heard tat maxis is using underground wired wireless technology .. tats y they cant pass (5 floor n above).. tried b4 wit maxis . is better not coz they all jus need u 2 sign up wit their CONTRACT!!! i kena aldy.. ,(
November 18th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
that day i subscribe maxis broadband just sign a small piece of paper. Now, they said in contract already. How come a small piece of paper can be contract. In law, it is impossilbe. The people must tell before i sign. they din tell about the contract also.
moreover, if sign a contract, the paper must be big, and the word size cannot be small, must big(especially the agreement one)
November 18th, 2007 at 5:26 pm
Their contract the words is surely small similar to the service provided. Anyone please read the term n ur coverage before SIGN UP.
If ur area HSPDA/3G I think just ok enough FOR surfing or downloading but for EDGE/GPRS i’m not sure the connection probably too slow.
Please be sure ur area is HSPDA if not dun sign…frenz…you’ll regret later…i’m using STREAMYX also now the speed even better not like before…the speed above 850Kbps n more but still not reach 1M…but the problem with streamyx i cannot bring it along…coz i’m in the move all the times so my best solution in Maxis Broadband coz its mobile…so if u wanna 2 use it think twice 2 suit ur best…
November 20th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
Please feel free to add those locations that you’re having a good or bad speed. So I think this will be helping each others.
November 23rd, 2007 at 2:06 pm
hi…
i need an opinion which one is better, Maxis broadband or Digi EDGE? i need to install internet before january…
November 23rd, 2007 at 11:16 pm
Hi…magna
Very difficult to say which provider offer the best services in broadband coz its depend on location, coverage, etc…anyway please call me at 017-2471900 to check ur area and what’s suit 2 ur requirements.
November 24th, 2007 at 1:01 am
Jangan Guna Celcom Broadband jika anda tak mahu masuk hospital gila.Aku hampir gila dgn kerenah Celcom Broadband.Dah hampir 23 hari aku subscribe,TIADA satu hari pun aku boleh browsing internet dgn hati aman damai.Setiap kali aku call Careline utk komplen,Mereka akan kata…”baiklah encik kami akan buat laporan..bla bla bla”.2hb Nov dulu kata servis ada prob & should be ok on 4 Nov.Sampai 4 Nov dia kata still ada sikit prob n should be ok on 12 Nov.Sampai 12 Nov dia kata…we very soli, ada sikit lg prob n should be ok on 23 Nov.skrg 23 Nov,aku nak cek email kat Yahoo hanya dapat bukak lepas 17 kali Reload pages.Arggghhhh..aku rasa cam nak bunuh aje si Celcom ni kalau dia seorg manusia.

November 25th, 2007 at 11:53 am
Will maxis charge additional fees if we used more than 3GB download per month or will they take any action to cut our services? Please help.
November 25th, 2007 at 1:34 pm
No one can assure stable speed in broadband coz its using signal transmission unless u’re staying in HSPDA/UTMS (3G) area and due to traffic congestion. Everybody want to surf internet more faster especially downloading file even streamyx also sometimes do have problems too. If u want to subcribe any broadband in “kampung area” make sure there is at least EDGE coverage even its surely slow in speed or not connected at all. Don’t blame provider if ur area is not covered by broadband coz you’re already know the risk….think twice.
