New 3G License
Posted on March 3, 2006
Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has awarded [tag]3G[/tag] licences to Time Dotcom Sdn Bhd and MiTV Corporation Sdn Bhd.
Initialy my friend and I was discussed about this issue and both of us are very confident that Digi will get 3G license. But now, DiGi is the only one was not successful bid for 3G spectrum.
Why? Izit because of Digi own by Telenor(Own Digi 61% share)? izit they are not own by [tag]Malaysian[/tag]? I have no idea…..
For the year 2005, Digi did a good jobs and they have a very good profit and revenue. But because of they are not getting a 3G license, I think they are going to lose competition with another 2 Telco (Maxis & Telekom) soon.

Sorry Digi! Try next time…. or reduce your share below 50%.
As mentioned in previous blogs, the decision was political and has got nothing to do with Digi’s financial standing. MiTV is a Pay-TV provider, with no sports content, hardly any English content and no news channels. They just happen to have persuasive shareholders.
