Smart TAG
Posted by Planet Malaysia on June 8, 2006
I purchased a Smart TAG last weekend during on the way back from KLIA Terminal LCC.
Actually I plan to buy Smart TAG long time ago but just because of the timing and location problem. I missed few times when passed by the toll plaza
If the goverment would like to promote Smart TAG but how come it’s so difficult to purchase Smart TAG device? If we can get Smart TAG in 7-Eleven, sell around < RM50, or more than 5 Smart TAG lane for every toll plaza then I’m sure we can make traffic smoothly in Toll Plaza. The product is make in Malaysia but why so expensive(RM100 each)? Why so difficult to purchase Smart TAG?
Luckly now’s day I can said it’s a bit easy to purchase or reload Touch ‘N Go.

haha…malaysia product better than china one ma..
Smart TAG is an outdated technology. Try to do some research on the web than you will know.
Yes you can top-up at the ATM machine but they did charge you 50cent per top-up why? This is no a practical why to promote TNG.
Compare to HK they call Octopus, they cam top-up every where without charging a single cent why?
Terminal LCC not located near KLIA ? Why is it at KLCC now ?
Can anybody tell me where I can buy the device and also which ATM to reload ?. I heard last month there was a promo on the device for RM50.00 only
the smart tag promotion campaign=stupid
why?…i couldn’t find any update news on WHERE & WHEN the sales will be on…each time round there will be “no stocks at the moment”
everyday i keep update through the website
(PLUS+TnG)…everyday also mention “wait for this coming August..bla…bla…”…until lah Sept,no more update page about “Smart Tag”….
where have there gone???…they eat all ahhh…the tag laaaa…..
Mazz is right, everytime also say no stocks at the moment or when call at the promotion area, they say 100 units finish within 1 hour…
so ‘laku’ meh ?
i’m with mazz… the promotion is done badly. why they not supply more stock, mass production can bring down the prices of the device…sigh..consumer is always suffer from this.
I have extra smart tag unit. Any one interested can contact me at 019-3607479. RM170/unit.
I thought the smart tag is priced at Rm 100 only?
LIMYS, I bought in June. So I’m not sure what is the latest price. Probably RM 170 is slightly expensive.
If anybody can advise me where to reload for smart tag gouch n go at putrajaya??
I went a few times this year and the told me to come last week which was the 9 of april then when i went they told me out of stock only coming this week. I when again and told me to come the following week as no more stock. It have been going on like this for the past 2 months. They should at least get more stock and let the public know where and when the product will be available.
I think they are not interested at all for people to change to smart tag. If not, then why so difficult (if not impossible) to buy one? I even asked my in-laws in Kedah and Penang to buy me one. But every time they go, the same story, ‘no more stock’! So laku eh? If they are serious they should make the tag available in supermarkets, seven 11 outlets or better still the petrol stations. This is what happened when the whole damn thing is monopolised by one company. The gov should allow others to manufacture the tag as well and sell it to the public. Talking about asking the people to switch to smart tag to reduce traffic snarls … its all just talk and no action.
I saw this a bit late but seriously, all they do most of the time is, “out of stock” campaign instead. The RM50 promotion of the device is just a cock and bull thing, it never happened and none bought for that price. 30,000 units? I don’t think there’s even 3 units nationwide during that so called promo. And that 3 units goes to VVIPs.
I been there for about 5 time…all the time is telling me out of stock. No matter during promotion or not, same answer.
Another thing, only PLUS office selling it. =_=”
TOO BAD...
what is the smart TAG battery voltage and current specification.
wht the hell!!!!!! i just ask the office, they said now the price is selling rm130 and included rm10 credit.dia org patut free bg pengguna jalan raya, tapi sekrng dia org nak minta duit…patutlah kwn kwn i semua panggil ia– stupid tag.
malaysia product same with china product…use the smart tag less than 5 times…but have to take to kl sentral repair and repair…already repair 3 times still facing the same problem “tiada smart tag” when pass any tol…and the worst is every time take to repair have to wait for 2 months just can take..after that, use it 1 days, then the problem come again..if under warranty then is ok..but if after warranty have to pay for the repair fee..tis the smart tag quality problem why need us to suffer??!!!!! their staff say if still got same problem buy another one la..just RM130 only..throw the $ to river oso won’t buy that “thing” again..people wan buy it to save time, but now is buy it to waste time….
Hey actually, wher again can buy smart tag except need to go to KLIA Terminal LCC..?
may i know where can i get smart tag repair station?thx…
Dear sir,
Can i print out the statement online?
If can, how to print out?
Thanks.
The only reason I purchase this dumb item is to have a little convinence NOT to wound down my windows when going thru the toll booth.
But this dumb item isnt reliable…and does drain the 9V battery heavily.
Anyway…to send for repairs PLUS advises to go someplace in KL that is jammed, congested…parking is expensive…
Try to be reasonable when promoting…PLUS …in US, when a passenger vehicle with more than 2(Driver + passenger) persons will be given free pass during peak hours.Even on Sundays you get away free if you drive with more than 2 persons.
Again this also promotes Car Pooling…
