SSH problem

I can’t login to the server using SSH and the TELNET service is NOT enable by default. Thanks god, I have DELL DRAC enable, I managed to login using console.

I’m getting an error messages in /var/log/messages and SSH connection refused error on one of my SuSE Linux box as below:

Aug 2 16:20:05 planetmy sshd[22531]: fatal: /var/lib/empty must be owned by root and not group or world-writable.
Aug 20 16:20:06 planetmy sshd[22546]: fatal: /var/lib/empty must be owned by root and not group or world-writable.
Aug 20 16:20:19 planetmy sshd[22797]: fatal: /var/lib/empty must be owned by root and not group or world-writable.
Aug 20 16:20:47 planetmy sshd[22838]: fatal: /var/lib/empty must be owned by root and not group or world-writable.
Aug 20 16:21:37 planetmy sshd[23598]: fatal: /var/lib/empty must be owned by root and not group or world-writable.

I found one of the stupid guy issue chmod 755 command in /var/log/messages:

Aug 20 16:15:37 planetmy sudo: username1 : TTY=pts/63 ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/ find ./ -type d -exec chmod 775 {}

Basically he try to changed all folder with permission 775(rwxrwxr-x) on Linux server.

Looking at man 8 sshd:

/var/lib/empty
chroot(2) directory used by sshd during privilege separation in the pre-authentication phase. The directory should not contain any files and must be owned by root and not group or world- writable.

Google Analytics Problem After Upgraded to WordPress 2.2 and New Theme

We’re noticed the Google Analytics used by Planet Malaysia was not updated after upgraded to WordPress 2.2 and new theme.

The image show as below definitely wrong. It won’t be drop that much because we have another source from sitemeter.

Auto Gate Problem again!

My auto gate problem agains! I bought a swing type auto gate (OAE Auto-Gate System brand) in June 2006 about RM1400 and so far I have call them for services or help for more than 10 times.

I already changed my auto gate motherboard for additional charge RM300 due to lightning strike according to their engineer. (remember they never tell you motherboard without warranty if lightning strike during purchase, maybe this is my fault.) last month and today the problem came again!

Streamyx Connection Problem

It’s my turn! We have a TMNET Streamyx Internet connection problem for access any Planet Malaysia web site which hosted by Exabytes.

According to Exabytes, there is a connection problem with TMNET Streamyx.

TM Net Streamyx users intermittent connections time out

Dear Valued Clients,

Please be informed that some TM Net Streamyx users will experience intermittent connections time out when accessing the internet which includes some of the web sites hosted by Exabytes as well as web site which are NOT hosted by Exabytes.

This is due to there is a high latency over certain TM Net network hops.

You may try to overcome this by reconnecting your Streamyx.

Auto Gate Problem

I bought an auto gate last month and today when I reached home I found that after open my auto gate and it cannot be closed :(

I tried and tried but stil no luck. After that I smell something weird, I saw smoke came out from the auto gate motor. Immediately I switch off my auto gate power supply and use the auto gate battery to closed my gate.
